Like I mentioned earlier, we are one of the few lucky blogs out there that actually know a Lions fan. Yes, a real-life Lions fan, they do exist. So we wanted to take advantage of this situation to get a fan’s reaction to the #1 pick.
Well, let’s just say it’s not a good day for Lions fans, at least for Scott in Stevens Point who absolutely HATES the Matthew Stafford pick. From talking to Scott today he made several points that the Lions need help a lot more in other areas and said of Detroit, “almost impossible to be successful in that situation for a quarterback.”
Scott really wanted Curry or Jason Smith at No. 1, or just anyone but Stafford. He even said he would be okay with Raji, who is slowly growing in all of Packers fans’ hearts.
“I’m upset, there is no way a QB can succeed if a defense gives up 40 points a game. They were giving 40 points a game, it was like a (expletive) video game.”
Scott also is clamoring for Rey at pick No. 20, which would ease some of his problems and help his defense out. I can’t really argue with him, Mauluga would be great value.
He also believes with Culpepper could be successful with O-line help or a decent defense as he has Calvin Johnson and is reunited with old offensive coordinator with Scott Linehan that he went to three Pro Bowls with. He also is only 31 years old. All interesting points.
Well Detroit is on the clock, lets see if they draft Michael Oher to help the offensive line or Scott gets his wish with Mauluga. Or knowing Detroit they will draft someone like Percy Harvin.
