Good work with the Draft coverage, guys! I enjoyed reading it. I think we will pleasantly surprised with this draft class. A starter is a starter, whether he's taken in the 1st round or the 7th and the same goes for All-Pro talent. The whole point of picking early is to increase your chances of finding both. The increased depth at DT is really smart, almost makes me think Capers has some new wrinkle up his sleeve.

The free agent market was weak? As if Ted would notice, he even said he didn't pay attention to the free agents. I suppose if our needs don't coincide with the BPA, that's just to freeking bad. It's his 6th draft!! How long before he's going to stop getting a pass for Mike Sherman. He's got a team that is a player or two from challenging for a Super Bowl. So lets go back to the drawing board and start over? We get 1 Safety for all of our needs.Where is our Punter? Oh I forgot, you haven't foundd him on the undrafted free agent list yet.

Thanks guys, we appreciate the comments and differing viewpoints. My quick response to Chris' post is that there is a depth issue in the secondary, but I believe that is why they drafted Morgan Burnett, who is a safety but in Capers' defense could play CB in Nickel or Dime sets.

Scott, you mentioned Bush and Martin as our back up safeties and that is scary, so I feel a lot more comfortable with Burnett now. Harris, Lee, Blackmon and Underwood is not ideal depth at CB, but they free agent market was very weak this year and to me the depth at corner is in a lot better shape than at safety.

Anyways, just my two cents. Chris, you have done a marvelous job to this point!

I couldn't disagree with you more. They could have gotten a tackle in the second round. BB is going to end up at gaurd. He has bad footwork. Neal was picked 2 rounds to early. He could have gotten a good OLB pass rusher in the first. He still needs CB's. The three you named were all injured. Harris won't be anywhere near his former self. Lee had been injured for both years. Blackmon has had a grand total of one healthy year. So Ted decides these are his guys.Look at the schedule, there are more than 3 good QB's on there. No help for pass rush, very little help for pass defenders. In this day of the QB, you cannot sit there and tell me with a straight face that he did enough. Look at your pre-draft columns. You said it yourself, Pass defence. Of course we still have Bush and Martin. I'd forgotten about them, I'm sorry, now I feel better.....not.

I really liked this draft. Quarless and Finley could be so dangerous this year. And having to good receiving tight ends makes the need for another WR less and less. Finley, Quarless, Jennings, Driver and Jones/Nelson will be a killer pass cathing corps. And the added depth to the d-line will make the pass rush much better than this past year. If they have a deeper rotation on the line, they will be less gassed towards the end of the games and the pass rush will benefit from the added stamina. I think it'll be a very good draft and I can't wait for the season to start. Is it August yet?

great way to finish a great series. totally agree with you. Was just looking at the current 85 man roster at jsonline and damn i think it is gunna be a tough training camp. CANT WAIT! Glad its not me making the final cuts to 53. Although then we would not have jarret bush on our team. LOL.
