Before the season started, most Green Bay Packers fans were hoping this would be the year in which James Jones and Jordy Nelson took significant strides and established themselves as legitimate players. After all, for as much as we collectively love Donald Driver, we were all too aware of his age and the unforgiving nature of [...] I was going to wait until later tonight to post my thoughts. Sorry, I couldn’t wait. The Green Bay Packers’ 9-0 win over the New York Jets was just too sweet (don’t worry, I’ll be back with more later this evening, anyways). Here are my quick thoughts on the win, in no particular order: Roughly two hours after [...] (Note: My streak of game recaps is officially over at 29. Don’t worry – I’ll start a new one Sunday.) As Gene, Adam and myself exited FedEx Field on Sunday, following the Green Bay Packers’ gutwrenching 16-13 overtime loss to the Washington Redskins, we found ourselves using variations of the same phrase over and over: This team just [...] I know, I know – some of you probably don’t think we should be tossing out any donuts after that one. But, hey, a win’s a win, right? Oops – let me just turn off this cilche alarm real quick. And, with the Green Bay Packers improving to 3-1 on the season as a result of their [...] (I know, I know – usually the “mixed bag of donuts” piece runs on Wednesdays. But we’re still trying to get caught up after the Monday nighter. It’s crazy how much one day changes things in terms of a schedule.) By now, we are all aware of what happened with Green Bay Packers safety Nick Collins [...] Okay, so we’ve covered the pretty boys on offense. For part two, it’s time to look at the tough guys on defense (and those wimps on special teams…I kid, I kid). Front seven – Yeah, that’s right. We’re going a different way on this one. It seems ridiculous to compare the respective defensive lines/linebacking corps for the [...] We here at OBOD don’t give out gameballs. We give out donuts. And, with the Green Bay Packers improving to 2-0 on the season with a 34-7 win over Buffalo on Sunday, we’d like to do just that. Now. (Also, we’re no longer giving away bad donuts to every group. Only one player will get the bad donut from [...] If you were expecting Sunday’s game with the Philadelphia Eagles to be a thing of true beauty – a Rolls Royce, Cristal, Megan Fox type of performance – you might have ended up a bit disappointed. However, if you were looking for a gritty, gutty showing – think Jeep, Crown Royal or maybe Elizabeth Banks (ladies, [...] (Note: Last season, I called this post the “Wednesday Wrap-up.” We’re going with the new name because, well, it’s just more fun, isn’t it?) Tuesday, it seemed as though the Green Bay Packers might have found a solution to their return man quandary.
