So far, we at OBOD have covered the hell out of free agency as it relates to the Green Bay Packers and the rest of the NFC North. (Okay, maybe we haven’t “covered the hell” out of it. But we’ve been good….solid….decent. Yeah, let’s stick with that – decent.) But what about the rest of the NFL? [...] Since you can only touch on so many topics in a game recap, I figured I’d use this post to wrap-up the 51-45 overtime heartbreaker. And what better way to do that than with a trip to the question department? (Quick aside: Yes, I fully realize that doing this is very much an exercise in sadism. [...] It was all there. It was all set up. One of, if not the, greatest non-Super Bowl playoff wins for the Green Bay Packers was about to happen. Then, in the blink of an eye, a snap of the finger, there was the mob of red jerseys celebrating in the endzone. Huh? What? How? Once again, we found out sea changes happen just [...] Since this is, oh, I don’t know, playoff week and all (65 hours and counting until kickoff!), we figured we’d take a closer look at the Arizona Cardinals. I hated the whole bag boy-to-Super Bowl winning quarterback angle (too Disney, I thought). I hated his goody-goody “Jesus freak” (the words I used then, not now) image. But what they showed should make the defending NFC Champs mighty nervous. Without giving it all away, the Packers were still able to earn a dominating 33-7 road win over the Cardinals in the regular season finale for both squads. I’m going to say that one again, this time with feeling: THE GREEN BAY PACKERS ARE IN THE (EXPLETIVE DELETED) PLAYOFFS! YES!! Sunday’s 48-10 home demolition of the woeful Seattle Seahawks – what’s happened to THEM? – combined with a New York Giants loss puts the now 10-5 [...] Before last night, anything I wrote today was going to be in a state of despair. I went for a walk after Mike Wallace caught that touchdown, just to be alone with my thoughts.
