No catchy, clever intro here. Let’s get down to business. Here are three things the Green Bay Packers must, must, must do if they are to advance to the Su…wait…I don’t even want to say that phrase yet…defeat the Chicago Bears in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game (still get chills writing that). Win the special teams battle. Or, at the very [...] It wasn’t the best game the Packers played this year, but it also wasn’t the worst. In the most important game of the year, the Packers came away with a hard fought victory, which is all that matters. They also didn’t do anything to sway my opinion that they can go into Philadelphia and win [...] Since the Green Bay Packers’ 34-16 win over the San Francisco 49ers ended, oh, roughly 30 hours ago, this recap won’t be about the particulars of that one. Instead, I’ll be focusing on where the Packers stand, as a team, as they begin the final assault on the 2010 NFL season. Some things from the Niners [...] It has become a weekly tradition here to handout some of our “namesakes” to players who provided us highlights and lowlights from that week’s game. Since the Packers were on a bye week, there were no donuts to be handed out. But fear not OBOD faithful, we have decided to handout some donuts for the [...] We here at OBOD don’t give out gameballs. We give out donuts. And, with the Green Bay Packers improving to 5-3 on the season with a 9-0 road win over the New York Jets on Sunday, we’d like to do just that. Now. (Sorry we never did a Minnesota edition of this, by the way. For the record, those [...] I was going to wait until later tonight to post my thoughts. Sorry, I couldn’t wait. The Green Bay Packers’ 9-0 win over the New York Jets was just too sweet (don’t worry, I’ll be back with more later this evening, anyways). Here are my quick thoughts on the win, in no particular order: Roughly two hours after [...] I know, I know – some of you probably don’t think we should be tossing out any donuts after that one. But, hey, a win’s a win, right? Oops – let me just turn off this cilche alarm real quick. It seems ridiculous to compare the respective defensive lines/linebacking corps for the [...] If you were expecting Sunday’s game with the Philadelphia Eagles to be a thing of true beauty – a Rolls Royce, Cristal, Megan Fox type of performance – you might have ended up a bit disappointed. However, if you were looking for a gritty, gutty showing – think Jeep, Crown Royal or maybe Elizabeth Banks (ladies, [...] The Green Bay Packers had been very quiet since Thursday night’s preseason pounding of the Indianapolis Colts.
